Is The One Center considered a religious organization? +
The One Center Austin is not a religious organization. We do not base any of our programs or teachings on any one particular religion or path. Instead, our principles and teachings are a synergy of our collective tasting of various spiritual lineages and paths, along with our life experiences, to bring together a unique and integrative approach to healing.
Why does The One Center have Open. Expand. Heal. as its tag line? +
Open. Expand. Heal. represents the journey that all of us go through when discovering our true essence and becoming who we really are as Source sees us.
Open. Opening the Heart.
The One Center believes that the heart and heart area of the human being is the loci of Love and Oneness and thus, Opening the Heart is an essential part of our connecting to all that IS.
Expand. Expanding the Mind.
Expanding the Mind, implies becoming purposeful initiators of our own thoughts and beliefs. As human beings, we will always have thoughts coming through us. However, at The One Center, we teach that each of us is more than just our thought forms. We each have the power and responsibility to determine which of our thoughts become active, and which ones we allow to pass right by without having to activate them.
Heal. Healing the Body.
At The One Center we view the human body as consisting primarily of energy and light. When we have beliefs or strong emotions that are counter to who we really are, we invariably disconnect from, or block the natural flow of, that energy and light.
It follows then, that most illnesses, injuries, or issues are a direct result of some level of separation between an individual and their connection to Source or their energy flow. Therefore, healing occurs when there is a re-integration or aligning with the highest qualities of life, such as Love, Truth, Freedom, Peace, and Compassion.
Is it really possible to find and experience one’s true essence? +
Yes. At The One Center we see Essence as the indispensable quality of our unique existence that is a mirror of the One universal life force. Yes, there is multiplicity, but only One divine reality from which all else flows. We hold the belief that without the Essence we would not exist.
Essence is breath, Spirit, a divine quality, prana, qi, or our own personal fingerprint. The One Center looks forward to witnessing and appreciating the individual beauty of each person who walks through our doors. We hold the belief that we are all here to learn from each other and share in the collective journey, creating an exciting and profound experience. Here is an inspiring quote by the beloved Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh illustrating this point.
“You are me, and I am you. Isn’t it obvious that we “inter-are”?
You cultivate the flower in yourself, so that I will be beautiful.
I transform the garbage in myself, so that you will not have to suffer.
I support you; you support me.
I am in this world to offer you peace; you are in this world to bring me joy.”
The One Center facilitates this co-creative relationship through an interactive process and from a container of love, honesty, and a curiosity to know YOU. Then our individual and collective essences become more pure, honest, and free so that we live fully in Truth and Grace.
Do you have to be on a certain spiritual path to participate at The One Center? +
No. The One Center Austin believes that all paths lead to The One, that is, for every human being there is a unique path to God/Source/Allah/Universal Truth. For most of us, at different points in our lives, we split from our path and the reasons for this vary.
The One Center’s goal is to ignite people to their unique path by offering teachings that provide a comprehensive look at, and direction with, the relationship between inner wisdom and outer distraction. We have found that when one is distracted (moving away from their inner wisdom, instinct, or heart) this often leads to thoughts of separation, negative emotions, and pain, which can lead to self-doubt, dis-ease, and an overall lack of motivation and purpose.
Whether you are on an existing path or searching for a path, you will find the teachings at The One Center are a perfect complement to where you are right here, right now.
